The Library Ambassador Program is an exciting opportunity for students to take on their first job and develop valuable leadership and organizational skills. Our ambassadors play a crucial role in maintaining a welcoming library environment and assisting fellow students in discovering the joy of reading.
The program is open to 4th and 5th-grade students quarterly. Students interested in becoming ambassadors must:
Complete and submit an application before the beginning of the quarter.
Obtain teacher and parent signatures on their application.
Be in good academic standing.
Exhibit positive behavior and a willingness to help others.
Library Ambassadors will have the opportunity to:
Assist in organizing and shelving books.
Helping fellow students find resources and books.
Promote library programs and initiatives.
Serve as role models within the library.
Help with checking books in and out at the circulation desk.
Label and process new books for circulation.
Perform basic book repairs to extend the life of library materials.
Assis with library centers and activities during class and special events.
The library is open to ambassadors in the mornings before school from 7:15 AM to 7:45 AM, Monday through Friday, and during their lunch periods on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Morning sessions are optional, but ambassadors must attend at least one lunch session per week to stay current in the program.
Being a Library Ambassador comes with several exciting benefits, including:
The privilege of checking out one extra book per visit.
Access to a badge system, where ambassadors can earn badges as they learn and master new library skills.
A Library Ambassador t-shirt awarded upon successful completion of their quarter.
Applications can be picked up at the library circulation desk or downloaded from our website. Completed applications must be submitted to the librarian before the deadline.
We look forward to welcoming new ambassadors each quarter and seeing the positive impact they will make!
